Rules for submission

Proposals must be submitted via the submission system (Download the Submission System Information).

The proposal is considered completed, and therefore submitted, when all the mandatory field are filled. However, it will be possible to modify the proposal until the submission deadline.

ESSSB20 accepts proposals for:

  • 90-minute session comprising 4 or 5 presentations focusing on one of the main listed topics.

    Format:

    • Total duration: 90 minutes including Q&A
    • 1 or 2 moderators (Chair and optional Co-Chair)
    • 4 or 5 speakers

    Submission requirements:

    • Symposium title
    • Category: select one from the list of topics
    • Title and abstract (max 2500 characters) of the presentations
    • List of co-authors (optional)
    • Moderators' and speakers' name, contact details, affiliation and disclosure of conflict of interest
    • Summary (max 2500 characters): brief description of the session highlighting its contents and objectives

    Registration to the congress of the moderators and speakers is mandatory for the inclusion of the symposium in the Scientific Programme.

    Symposia Submission is Closed

  • Symposia to be held in the plenary hall. They should focus on specific special topics, emerging issues, innovative research methods or interventions, or provide an overview of the state-of-the-art.

    Format:

    • Total duration: 90 minutes including Q&A
    • 1 or 2 moderators (Chair and optional Co-Chair)
    • 4 or 5 speakers

    Submission requirements:

    • Symposium title
    • Category: select one from the list of topics
    • Title and abstract (max 2500 characters) of the presentations
    • List of co-authors (optional)
    • Moderators' and speakers' name, contact details, affiliation and disclosure of conflict of interest
    • Summary (max 2500 characters): brief description of the session highlighting its contents and objectives
    • Brief explanation of why the session should be considered a special symposium (max 2000 characters)

    Submitted proposals will be automatically considered for regular symposia should they not be accepted as a special symposium.

    Registration to the congress of the moderators and speakers is mandatory for the inclusion of the symposium in the Scientific Programme.

    Special Symposia Submission is Closed

  • 10-minute presentations to be included in the Oral Sessions, according to the selected topic.

    Format:

    • 10-minute presentation

    Submission requirements:

    • Title
    • Category: select one from the list of topics
    • Name, affiliation and contact details of the presenter and optional additional authors
    • Abstract (max 2500 characters)
    • Disclosure of conflicts of interest

    Submitted proposals will be automatically considered for posters should they not be accepted as an oral communication.

    Registration to the congress of the presenter is mandatory for inclusion of the presentation in the Scientific Programme.

    Oral Communications Submission is Closed

  • Visual exhibits to be displayed during one of the different Poster Sessions.

    Format:

    • The presenting authors will be required to stand with their posters at the times indicated in the programme to answer questions and engage in discussions with participants.

    • Category: select one from the list of topics
    • Name, affiliation and contact details of the presenter and optional additional authors
    • Abstract (max 2500 characters)
    • Disclosure of conflicts of interest

    Registration to the congress of the presenter is mandatory for inclusion of the poster in the Scientific Programme.

    Poster Submission is Closed

  • Lived experience, survivors and postvention
  • Machine Learning and Big Data
  • Neurocognition and decision making
  • Public Health and community interventions
  • Risk assessment and screening
  • Socioeconomic, cultural and psychological factors
  • Vulnerable groups
  • War, natural disasters, climate changes and other public stressors

The Scientific Committee will review and rate the proposals. Only the submitter will be notified about the acceptance/refusal of the proposal. Please add scientific@esssb.org to the list of your safe senders list.

Accepted proposals will be included in the Scientific Programme only after the presenters will complete their registration.
